The One Under
The One Under is where a pub crashes into a restaurant. An excellent gastro pub in which food and drink are treated with equal reverence. Our bar is a warm, relaxed and comfortable environment located below Rocca restaurant and the Rbar champagne bar and beside the 18th fairway of the famous Royal and Ancient gollf course. This is a local gem.
Rocca Bar & Grill
Rocca Bar & Grill opened in February 2010, in time for Valentines weekend, it was very much a labour of love. The restaurant was the dream of owners Adrian and Susan Pieraccini. Their concept was to create a restaurant that combines the very best of Scottish and Italian cuisine to produce an imaginative and inspiring menu.
The Terrace Restaurant, St Andrews
Our customer research, from resident guests and the local community, tells us that many people perceive a Country House Hotel Restaurant to be a "special occasion" dining experience. It is our aim to change this perception so that the Terrace Restaurant at Rufflets becomes your favourite restaurant, to be enjoyed on a daily basis, not just for high days and holidays!
Our dinner menu is a daily changing table d'hote menu priced at £37.50 inc VAT, although we do have some items that remain a fixture due to their popularity. We can also produce special one-off menus to suit the needs of our clients for special occasions.
Our kitchen brigade produce seasonal menus using organic and locally sourced fresh Scottish produce wherever possible, quality aged Scotch beef, locally reared lamb & venison, fish and seafood landed daily at East Neuk harbours. Locally grown vegetables and soft fruits supplement our own garden produce. Fresh bread, pastas, ice creams and sorbets are all made in house and our cheeses are sourced from some of the best cheese-makers in the country.
Although our menu format and content may have moved forward in response to changing customer preferences, the quality of our hospitality, customer service and attention to details remains at the highest level.
To complement your meal, our wine list offers a range of approx 100 wines from around the world, including a half bottle selection. We also offer wines by the glass, including dessert wines.
Playfair’s is recognised as one of the best restaurants in St Andrews having been awarded a 2013 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence and continues to offer excellent food at fair prices all served in a relaxed setting.
All our food is fresh, from carefully selected suppliers (local independent businesses wherever possible) and all the dishes are prepared in house by our experienced chefs.
The menu, created by Head Chef Duncan McLachlan, derives much of its inspiration and attractive presentation from Gleneagles where Duncan refined his skills before joining Playfair’s last year. We now have 3 highly trained Gleneagles chefs. To complement the food there is a tempting wine list with great choices offered at sensible prices.
A day menu is available from 12.00 noon till 6pm offering casual food creations such as Duncan’s Bookmaker Sandwiches and Pulled Pork Baps spiced with buffalo sauce. The day menu continues all day and evening in Playfair’s Bar next door.
The A La Carte menu, served from 6pm in the restaurant has a tempting range of dishes from steaks served with chunky hand cut chips to hand dived Orkney king scallops, and exciting specials which celebrate local and seasonal produce. St Andrews Lobster is available in season.
Children can enjoy their own menu, again prepared from fresh ingredients, in both Playfair’s restaurant and bar.

Almost all the tables in Champions Grill have unforgettable views over the West Sands beach, scene of the famous film "Chariots of Fire". The constantly changing seascape is just breathtaking!
The interior theme represents an historic pageant of great and famous golfing heroes who have visited the town, going back to the earliest days of photography and there are many hickory shafted golf clubs above the picture rails.
Open daily from 7.00am for Breakfast, Morning Coffee, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Scottish High Tea (a main course with home baking and tea) and Evening Meals. A wide Selection of drinks and wine are available during normal licensing hours.
Every Sunday in Champions Grill we offer a Hot Buffet Lunch with Roasts along with our normal All Day Menu.
Named after the film "Chariots of Fire" which was partly shot on the West Sands beach and other locations around St Andrews. Chariots Bar is a typical Scottish 'snug' where you will meet locals and fellow guests whilst admiring the picture gallery of famous Scots.

Number Forty restaurant is the heart of the St Andrews Golf Hotel, with impeccable service, one of the finest views in town overlooking the West Sands, timelessly elegant yet relaxed, with a modern, uncluttered feel.

Ma Bells, the Prince of Pubs forms a great night life for residents of the hotel and a great haunt for the students and locals alike. Weekends are lively with guest DJs and Bands.
